SKILLS DRIVING SCHOOL CORPORATION
responsibilities

Provide training in a timely and professional manner.

Ensure the training vehicle is clean and is in good running condition. The vehicle will have a valid license plate, registration and insurance.

Ensure the driving instructor is licensed by Alberta Transportation and produce instructor’s license and operator’s license upon request.

Ensure if Skills Driving School must cancel a lesson due to illness, vehicle breakdown, etc., every effort will be made to accommodate the student and to reschedule the lesson.

Ensure the driving instructor will give full attention to the student during the in-vehicle lesson.

The instructor’s cell phone will be off and may not be used unless the vehicle is safely stopped and the student gives permission.

Ensure the in-vehicle report card/summary, with a detailed evaluation, will be completed by the instructor and explained at the completion of each lesson.

Provide a 15-hour in-classroom theory session.

Offer a 15-hour online classroom option that will also complete the insurance reduction program. (The online driving theory program is owned and distributed by an independent company).

Issue the student's program certificate upon successful course completion. Training hours and performance must meet standards for certificate eligibility. A minimum grade of 80% is required for the theory portion of the program and 75% for the in-vehicle portion.


THE STUDENT
responsibilities

Must possess, at a minimum, a Class 7 Alberta license and have the license in their possession during all in-vehicle training.

Must give a 24-hour notice of cancellation. Failure to do so will result in an administrative fee for lost time. No refunds.

Will be charged an administrative fee for no shows (missing a scheduled appointment at time of pick-up).

Must complete the in-vehicle training and driving theory class within a 3-month period.

Will be picked up at the prearranged address within the town/city limits for in-vehicle lessons.

Provide your own lunch, refreshments and snacks and bring indoor shoes and if attending the in-person theory class.
